Brookside Gardens Greenhouse Wheaton Regional Park

Wheaton, MD

Brookside Gardens is a 50-acre garden located within the 500-acre Wheaton Regional Park.  The park is a destination park in the region welcoming over 400,000 visitors annually to the plant collections, seasonal plant displays, scenic landscapes and horticulture education services.

Annapolis Landscape Architects is part of the design/build team tasked with designing and building a new state-of-the-art 10,000 square foot greenhouse and 15,000 square foot outdoor planting and work area.  A 200 foot retaining wall will make the site more functional to allow for a widened driveway, plant storage areas and parking lot constructed with permeable pavers.  An underground cistern will capture gray water which will be reused by the irrigation system for plant watering operations.  Although not intended for certification, the project design is LEED and SITES focused.
